The 2017 Festival Appeal is in support of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys [ R.M.T.G.B. ]. The Brethren of the North Wales Masonic Province have this great and exciting opportunity to support the magnificent work carried out by the R.M.T.G.B. and to contribute to this most important of Charities as we embark on our 2017 Festival Appeal.
The work of the R.M.T.G.B. is fundamental to the ideals of Freemasonry. Its aims, objects and constitution are to provide the appropriate support and assistance where death, desertion, illness, disability or financial need are affecting families, especially children.
In short, its objective is to relieve poverty and advance the education of the child or children of a Masonic family and, when funds permit, support other children in need.
Many of us have all lost loved ones and realise the traumatic effect this can have - particularly on the children. Those supported by the R.M.T.G.B. may have lost a loved one and, as a result, suffered trauma both emotionally and physically and are basically in need of support, very often for many years.
Such support will continue for many years to come so that the children develop as normally as is possible with a view to their going on to lead fulfilling adult lives.
The North Wales Brethren have approximately six years to fulfill our charitable obligation in producing an impressive sum towards the RMTGB appeal - an amount which will be appropriate to this most charitable of Provinces.
