Provincial Grand Lodge of North Wales

No institution can boast a more solid foundation than that on which Freemasonry rests - the practice of every moral and social virtue!

The Provincial Grand Master

Provincial Grand Master

Brethren, we have now entered a new calendar year and are nearly halfway through our Masonic year to the next Annual Meeting. I have had the pleasure of attending a number of Lodges and enjoyed the ceremony of Banner Dedications on quite a few occasions recently.

The Banners have all been beautifully prepared and each occasion has been in its own way special. The Provincial Grand Chaplain has been remarkable in the preparation and delivery of the Orations at each dedication.

Long Service certificates are being issued in great numbers and I will in a few days time have the pleasure of presenting a 65 year Certificate to W.Bro. Dr Emlyn Owen PAsstGDC of Arfon Lodge at Queen Elizabeth Court where he and Mrs Owen reside. Dr Owen has been a great supporter of Masonry in general and this Province in particular.

Presenting Certificates is tinged with sadness because I come to realise that we have an ageing Brotherhood. Our responsibility is to try and encourage young men into Masonry. Let us challenge each other to find ways of doing so.

I leave you with two thoughts. White Table evenings? Asking non-Masonic friends and their wives to an informal evening in the Lodge room and introducing the guests to the basics of our Society?

Some Lodges have held successful events which have resulted in new members. I encourage Lodges to hold these events and to let me know whether the effort has been successful.

Ieuan Redvers Jones,
R.W. Provincial Grand Master

Freemasonry benefits both the Local & National Community

Freemasons make a major contribution to society through their own charities, as well as through donations to UK charities and worldwide disaster relief funds, with members playing an active role in their communities.

Freemasonry is more relevant and important to society today than ever!
